About the Festival

The Festival of Cricket truly celebrates all aspects of the glorious game in a way that has never been done before… without a match being played!
No other event anywhere in the cricketing world brings together people from every dimension of cricket - from on and off the field, from the test arena to the backyard.

The Festival of Cricket will give cricket lovers of all ages access to parts of the game they never thought possible.

It’s an event that celebrates the spirit of cricket and the contribution to the game made by high-profile professionals, local teams and clubs, behind-the-scenes administrators, umpires, the media, equipment makers, curators, the army of passionate volunteers and the millions who just support the game.

The inaugural Festival of Cricket™ was held at Bradman Oval in Bowral, NSW, on the weekend of the 1st and 2nd October 2005. It was fitting that such an event was staged in Bowral, where the Bradman legend was born. The town was his home from boy to manhood. The oval is where he honed his mercurial skills and it is the place where he is finally laid to rest.

That legend has been magnificently preserved in the famous Bradman Museum, adjacent to the Bradman Oval and Pavillion. The location is about 90 minutes by car from the Sydney CBD.

The next Festival will be held at the SCG in 2008.
